"Busy lifestyles have consumers seeking ease, expediency and convenience," says Dave Foster, global business development manager for Printpack Inc. in Williamsburg, Virginia. "Smaller, lighter and more easily disposable packaging makes consumption on the go easier." e Keurig-style coee pod brings the biggest change. Pods are now mainstream grocery items: Euromonitor International marks a vefold increase in volume over the ve years ending in 2016. Pods are expected to lead growth in coee sales, with o-trade volume growth of 74 percent. Increasingly popular in homes and workplaces, single-serve pod machines now account for 20 percent of total coeemaker sales volume, up from 4 percent in 2006.
