CONTRIBUTORS 32 CULTURED DANIEL TRESE is an American photographer based in Los Angeles, whose restrained style has been soaked in the California sun. His work has been exhibited in group shows in Los Angeles, New York, London and Berlin, among other cities, and his clients include American Apparel, Bulgari, LACMA, The New York Times, NOWNESS.com and PIN-UP. "On my radar at the moment is the L.A.-based artist Mariah Garnett." JASON SCHMIDT is a New York City-based photographer. He received a bachelor's degree in art history from Columbia University. Since 2000, Schmidt has photographed over 500 contemporary fine artists in their studios and with their work. His first book "Artists," published in 2007 by Steidl, included 130 of the artist portraits and coincided with a gallery show of this work at Deitch Projects. His second book on the subject will be published this spring. Schmidt regularly shoots for magazines and advertisers, including Harper's Bazaar, The New York Times Magazine, Vanity Fair and Vogue. Based in New York and traveling the world, TED LOOS indulges his short attention span by covering art, architecture, wine and food. Loos regularly contributes to Vogue, Departures and The New York Times. He was recently a panelist at The Symposium for Professional Wine Writers at Meadowood Napa Valley. "I'm always a fan of WORKac buildings, which are brainy but also livable. Certainly the Edible Schoolyard project that principal architects Amale Andraos and Dan Wood did in Brooklyn with Alice Waters' Chez Panisse Foundation is one of the coolest projects in a very cool borough." A graduate of Design Academy Eindhoven, DROR BENSHETRIT has developed an interdisciplinary practice specializing in innovative design projects since founding Studio Dror in 2002. Based in New York, he works with clients around the world, including Alessi, Bentley, Boffi, Bombay Sapphire, Cappellini, Kiehl's, Levi's, Lualdi, Material ConneXion, Maya Romanoff, Marithé + François Girbaud, Puma, Rosenthal, Skins Footwear, Yigal Azrouël, Shvo, Swarovski and Target.
