diesel engine, which delivers torque of 735 ft.-lb. (at 1,600 rpm) and 390 horsepower (at 2,800 rpm) — 85 ft.-lb. and 40 horse- power more than the outgoing product. The new diesel offers fuel economy and biodiesel compatibility up to B20. All-new 6.2-liter V-8 gasoline engine of- fers 385 horsepower and 405 ft.-lb. of torque — 85 more horsepower and 40 ft.- lb. more torque than the current 5.4-liter V-8 gas engine — combined with E85 compatibility. Each new engine is mated to the all-new 6R140 heavy-duty TorqShift six-speed au- tomatic transmission, which has been opti- mized for the increased torque of the new diesel engine and the higher speeds of the new gas engine. The new transmission fea- tures SelectShift Automatic capability, with segment-exclusive Live Drive Power Take Off (PTO) available for diesels. The all-new powertrains are the back- bone of the new 2011 F-Series Super Duty, which has towing capability of 24,400 pounds and payload capability of 6,520 pounds; the new Super Duty averages an 18 percent improvement for pickup models and up to 25 percent improvement for chassis cabs over the outgoing model. grille with round air inlets distinguishes the Sierra Denali HD on the outside, along with body-color bumpers, chrome door handles, chrome accents and 18- and 20- inch polished forged aluminum wheels. The balance of the new 2011 Sierra HD lineup is identified on the outside by new, three-bar grilles and powertrain-badged louvered hoods, along with a revised, full- width chrome steel front bumper and a new family of 17-, 18- and 20-inch wheels. Beneath the skin highlights include in- creased towing capability (20,000 pounds) and payload (6,335 pounds), new 6.6L Du- ramax diesel, larger gas tank and fuel econ- omy improvements allow up to 680 miles between fill-ups with the 6.6L Duramax turbo diesel, all-new “smart” exhaust brake feature for greater control on grades and re- duced brake pad wear, an array of control features, and more. Both versions of the gasoline powerplant will be mated to a GM Powertrain six- speed automatic transmission with double overdrive. Previous N-Series gasoline mod- els offered only a four-speed automatic. Landscape Tipper from Crysteel The Landscape Tipper from Crysteel Manufacturing provides an innovative swing-out side door. Under the door is a built-in retractable ladder for easy entry to the body. The Landscape Tipper also comes standard with a dual-purpose upper tailgate that functions as a swing-out tailgate and a ramp. A 2-piece barn door gate is also of- fered. The unibody design is ideal for heavy loads, and its smooth-contour formation makes dumping and cleaning effortless. Fur- ther accessories are available including an optional full weld-on cab shield with tie downs for wheelbarrow storage and accom- modations for a tarp system. Gasoline-powered NPR and NPR-HD single cab and crew cab models return to Isuzu lineup Isuzu Commercial Truck of America, GMC Sierra Denali HD leads new 2011 Sierra Heavy-Duty GMC announced the new 2011 Sierra Denali HD, the first offering of the exclu- sive Denali line on a heavy-duty GMC pickup. The Sierra Denali HD leads a com- prehensively redesigned lineup of 2011 Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD trucks. Sierra HD’s new 6.6L Duramax turbo diesel delivers 397 horsepower (296 kW) at 3,000 rpm and 765 lb.-ft. of torque (1,037 Nm) at 1,600 rpm. The Sierra Denali HD comes exclusively on the 2500HD chassis, in a 4WD crew cab standard box configuration. A Vortec 6.0L gas V-8/six-speed automatic powertrain is standard and the new Duramax 6.6L turbo diesel/Allison 1000 six-speed transmission powertrain is available. The iconic Denali four-bar, chrome www.landscapeirrigation.com Inc., announced that production of gasoline-powered Isuzu N-Series trucks will begin in April at the Spartan Motors, Inc., facility in Charlotte, Mich. Gasoline-powered NPR (12,000-lb. GVWR) and NPR-HD (14,500-lb. GVWR) trucks will be available in single cab models with wheelbases of 109, 132.5, 150 and 176 inches, and in crew cab con- figurations with 150- and 176-inch wheel- bases. Units are expected to arrive at Isuzu dealerships beginning in early May 2011. The vehicles will complement the popu- lar diesel-powered Isuzu N-Series trucks al- ready available. N-Gas models will be powered by a General Motors Vortec 6.0-liter V8 engine that produces 297 horsepower at 4,300 rpm and generates 372 lbs.-ft. of torque at 4,000 rpm. In addition, a version of the engine compatible with compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) will be available. DuraClass Yardbird light-duty body The DuraClass Yardbird provides con- tractors and municipalities a light-duty body that doesn’t compromise on quality and durability. The Yardbird features the patented DuraClass design, with a continu- ous formed body sidewall and fully en- closed top rail for superior resistance to moisture and corrosion. The double-wall body side, full depth rear corner posts and enclosed front corner posts, and the inter- laced understructure provide strength and rigidity. Yardbird bodies come standard with quick-release upper tailgate pins, 1/4 cab shield with window, and fully welded con- struction.
