Reaching out to all existing clients and offering support,
parts, newly-minted manuals and his personal cell phone
number, Kennedy began to rebuild the community of San
Franciscan lovers across the world.
But Kennedy hasn't just focused on customer service. e
R&D part of Coee/PER is ongoing, with many innovations in
the works including a complete new line of roasters. For now,
the most recent leap is the Series-2 options for the SF25, which
include a variable-speed motor and data-logging capabilities.
e Series-2 was specically engineered to equip the San
Franciscan for the Australian market, where it's seeing huge
demand, but some American roasters will be intrigued by its
potential as well.
As for future plans, Kennedy's got big ones. In the immediate
future, Coee/PER will remain in Fallon where it will continue
its original purpose of restoring and repairing great roasters.
Completely separate, e San Franciscan Roaster Company
will be established in Nevada's capital, Carson City, in a huge
warehouse that is undergoing renovations right now.
Plans include a pour over bar, roaster training facilities,
and a cupping lab. Always intrigued by the unique challenges
of adult education, Kennedy envisions a school for coee
education unlike any that currently exist.
KEEPING IT SIMPLE
e future for e San Franciscan Roaster Company remains
wide open, but with Kennedy at the helm, the roaster's beauty
and functionality will remain despite ongoing innovation. He
says, "Oen people think high tech when you say ingenuity, but
anyone can go high tech these days. It takes a lot of thought to
keep it simple—some of the most ingenious devices invented
are very, very simple." SCR
