A USED CLASS 8 TRUCK
sold for an average of more
than $44,000 in January, a
15 percent year-over-year
gain and a record price, ACT
Research said. ACT's Steve
Tam said prices are expected
to cool slightly later this
year, declining up to 5 per-
cent due to less "pent-up"
demand.
NEW MEXICO Gov. Susana
Martinez signed a bill that
increases the number of
times the CDL knowledge
test may be retaken from
three times per year to
twice a week. SB 41 amends
state code to specify
applicants must pass the
knowledge and skills tests
separately and does not
change the number of
times the skills test may be
retaken in a year.
The Overdrive-Red Eye Radio's
Trucker Talent Search, brought
to you by Chevron Delo, is
looking for truckers who love to
sing. Submissions will be accept-
ed through May 26.
Applicants should record
a 30-second video clip of
themselves singing – even a
simple smartphone recording
is acceptable. Judges request
no instrumental accompa-
niment be used so that they
can hear the voice well. No
enhancement of the audio is
allowed.
Can you sing? Prove it in competition
Online voting to narrow the field
to a group of finalists will be May 30
through June 25. Finalists will attend
The Great American Trucking Show
in Dallas in August and will compete
live for first place.
Visit TruckerTalentSearch.com for
more details and to enter.
