It was all about the operators at ECGOI’s second annual access control training seminar BY PAULA LALLI It was all about gate operators and access controls at the second annual East Coast Gate Operators Incorpo- rated March training seminar held in Charlotte, N.Carolina. “We look forward to this event every year. We feel it’s just another way to show our clients how important customer service is to us by offering them some hands-on training,” said Shawn Lalli of East Coast Gate Oper- ators. “We really appreciate all of our manufacturer reps for helping us make this a successful seminar.” Representatives from All-O- Matic, BFT, Apollo, DoorKing, Lift- Master, and Select Engineered Systems gave demonstrations of their products and offered some valuable in- stallation tips and techniques. “It’s a day of training mixed in with some fun, and we get to catch up with our clients and reps and talk about the latest innovations in the in- dustry,” said Billy Meredith of East Coast Gate Operators. A few manufacturers showcased their latest developments in automa- tion and access technology. BFT displayed their cellular re- ceiver; DoorKing demonstrated their 9000 slide gate operator and All-O- Matic presented their SL-150DC gate operator. The seminar also gave East Coast Gate Operators the opportunity to show clients their newly expanded of- fice, training area and warehouse. “We’re very happy with our new training area. It gives our customers the opportunity to come in and check out how the operators and access con- trols work in real time,” said Meredith. Linear and BD Loops provided door prizes and everyone was treated to various manufacturer giveaways and a barbeque lunch during the day- long event. “We came all the way down from New Jersey to check out the seminar and enjoy some sunshine. So far the 10 hour trip has been worth it,” said Mike Mallah of Big Brother HD, who didn’t win a door prize but left with some good ideas about access and a few freebies. “We’re already talking about next year’s seminar,” said Lalli. “Every year it just gets bigger and better, and we look forward to sharing all the cutting- edge technology that the gate automa- tion and access industry has to offer with our customers.” East Coast Gate Operators Inc. is a wholesale distributor that sells high quality gate operators and access pe- ripherals to professionals in the gate and access industry.
