The reliable low-speed diesel machine offers multiprocess flexibility and versatility to work on multiple jobs, with a focus on ease of use, reliability and fuel economy. Improved weld control increases arc quality and optimizes welding output. The new machine provides 400 amps of output at 100 percent duty cycle. The 12 kW peak auxiliary power or 10kW continuous auxiliary generator power, available while welding, allows for additional plug-in inverters for more versatile use as a multioperator unit. The Big Blue 400 Pro can handle most jobs with ease, including gouging with up to 1/4-inch carbons. Designed to operate more than 10,000 hours before the first basic overhaul, the clean, efficient engine offers quiet operation of just 66.5 dB at idle and 72.1 dB at maximum output, improving jobsite communication and safety. There are multiple EPA-compliant engine choices available (Caterpillar, Kubota and Mitsubishi). Separately, Miller Electric Mfg. Co. is helping build weld- ing skills with its new LiveArc reality-based training system, designed to recruit, screen, train and manage welding trainee performance – all via a live welding arc. The LiveArc system features advanced motion-tracking technology that provides critical feedback to improve welding skills, providing better, faster and more cost- effective results than traditional training methods. The pre-weld simulation mode saves money for supplies and provides a sound welding technique baseline for accelerat- ing training. An industry-exclusive, 400-amp SmartGun features built-in LEDs that the system's camera tracks in order to provide feedback on technique parameters, including work and travel angles, contact tip-to-work-distance (CTWD), travel speed and aim. The gun's OLED display screen provides initial feedback to guide the trainee in proper gun position, and integrated pushbuttons act as a convenient alternative to touchscreen navigation. A joint calibration tool informs the system of the joint location, which allows the user to place the weld coupon in nearly any position. After both simulation and weld mode tests, trainees are provided with graphical and numerical data to improve individual performance. This screen also provides instructors with monitoring and evaluation capabilities to help build basic welding technique skill sets. Hyundai HR520LC-9A Demolition Excavator Hyundai recently introduced their R520LC-9A DM (Demolition) excavator. The R520LC-9A DM, equipped with a tilting cab and high reach arm, is guaranteed to tackle large demolition projects, whether it's tearing down build- ings or cleaning up the debris afterward. This model has many enhanced features and benefits including a certified Interim Tier-4 engine, advanced hydraulics engineered for added efficiency and smooth operation, enhanced operator comfort with a fully customizable work environment and added durability through high-quality cab construction. The 131,840 pound R520LC-9A DM features a power- ful, fuel efficient 352 hp Cummins Interim Tier 4/Stage IIIB QSX11.9 engine. This engine has one of the highest power-to-weight ratios in its class, and its remarkable torque rise (up to 50 percent) enables the engine to quickly take full advantage of the torque power. The variable speed fan clutch, two-stage auto decal system and the economy mode help to conserve fuel and reduce environmental impact. Operators can choose between three engine modes - Power, Standard and Economy - which enable the machine to switch between full power and reduced fuel consumption according to the user's preference. The R520LC-9A DM has a maximum working reach of 47-foot, 1-inch and a maximum working height of 85-feet, 8 inches. For more information visit www.hceamericas.com
