"Which artist, architect or designer would you most like to meet?" DOUGLAS FRIEDMAN was born and raised in New York City and now divides his time between his hometown and Los Angeles. He shoots portraits, interiors and fashion for Harper's Bazaar, Vogue Italia, InStyle and The New York Times. For this issue of Cultured, Friedman shot our cover story with Peter Marino. I remember seeing his epic, multi-channel Going Forth By Day at the Guggenheim over 10 years ago, and the piece sticks with me to this day. To me, all of his works are incredibly beautiful, haunting and mesmerizing." SAMANTHA TSE is a London-based writer specializing in fashion, design, architecture and travel.
