LAKE FOREST, Calif. — Much credit for Safetech Hardware's success in the fence and gate marketplace is due to the small but significant inno- vations in its gate hardware designs, according to Audrius Macernis, the company's research and development manager. "These innovations are stressed by pool and fencing contractors when proposing new or updated residential and commercial installations. Bene- fits include increased safety, reduced maintenance and call-backs, and ex- tended service life of hinges and latch- es," he said. "These are important in converting prospects to customers." At the top of the innovation list is Safetech's TriLatch pool gate latching and locking system designed to foil attempts by kids to gain access to un- supervised areas, Macernis noted. The disengagement mechanism located at a regulation 5-foot height requires simultaneous maneuvers im- possible to perform with a garden rake or any other implement: pushing a center button, holding it and then rais- ing the mechanism knob. Safetech's TopKlik adjustable ten- sion self-closing gate hinge is another safety measure that ensures gates are not left ajar, Macernis said. "Dealers and installers like this hinge design because it allows owners to regulate the closing tension using Safetech's innovative gate hardware features support dealer sales Safetech's TriLatch pool gate latching and locking system is de- signed to foil attempts by kids to gain access to unsupervised areas.
