Visitors can choose to view autumn colors at any of our more than 150 beautiful county parks and parkways totaling almost 15,000 acres. These include six beautiful parks with gorgeous views of Lake Michigan, many close to downtown. For fall golf lovers, Milwaukee County offers 15 courses of varying lengths that will challenge all skill levels. Mark your calendars and attend some tremendous lake- front events, like the Rock the Green Concert (Sep. 18), featuring world-class musicians and celebrating sustain- ability and giving back to local communities. Finally, you're invited to join us for our annual "Milwaukee County Remembers 9/11" memorial event at 7:30 a.m. September 11, 2011, at the Milwaukee County War Memorial. The University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, Marquette University, and the Milwaukee School of Engineering have extensive pro- grams of study, respected faculty and high-achieving students. Other Milwaukee colleges with excellent reputations include Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, Alverno College, Mount Mary College and Cardinal Stritch University. Take a closer look and you will find some surprising attractions including the Haggerty Art Museum at Marquette, the Grohmann Museum at Milwaukee School of Engineering and the extensive Golda Meir Library at the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. You can attend a wide range of artistic performances, exhibitions,sporting events and lectures at our univer- sities. The schools' websites are the best place to begin your exploration.
