Grundfos Technical insTiTuTe releases new Professional TraininG Tools for u.s., canadian MarkeTs Grundfos Technical Institute launched a new online training website with vari- ous platform tools designed to assist professionals across numerous market segments. Targeting consulting engineers, installers, professional end users, service personnel and Grundfos channel part- ners, the Grundfos Technical Institute is a training series that supports Grundfos' pumps though easy-to-access education before, during and after the purchase process. A cornerstone of the new train- ing tool is Ecademy, an online learning platform that makes the customer an expert in system and product specifica- tion, operation and troubleshooting. The new platform greatly extends Grundfos' training reach to significantly benefit a larger number of profession- als. Thanks to various smart devices now available, the latest information can virtually accompany a professional to a job site or client meeting via their mobile devices. The platform features global as well as local content in a variety of formats such as videos, slideshows, articles and interactive tools. Through the portal, customers will be able to access classes on topics such as system design, prod- ucts, applications and helpful white papers utilizing interactive tools. Grundfos Technical Institute offers the key benefit of webinars and class- es approved for American Institute of Architecture and continuing education unit credits. These learning opportu- nities allow professional engineers to maintain their licensure. Laurel, N.J. This open house, held Sept. 17, 2014, was dedicated to training. About 600 contractors and distributor personnel were in attendance, including Fuel Oil News. Contractors were bused in by Weil Mclain distribu- tors from the Washington, D.C., market- ing area, and from central Pennsylvania, Philadelphia and Southern N.J. The day started out with a technical seminar on hybrid heating that attracted about 160 contractors that RSVP'd for this seminar. Bill Price, Weil Mclain's Mid-Atlantic regional sales manager said, "It's about sharing new energy efficient innovative ideas with our cus- tomers. It's about creating a new source of marketing opportunities to gener- ate a new revenue stream for hydronic heating. And, it's about thinking outside the box in a hybrid concept with a con- densing gas boiler and a large mass cast iron boiler—either gas or oil—working together as one." The overall theme of this year's open house was centered on "consultative sell- ing," or selecting the right boiler for the best application. Training at the open house had five modules for contractors to choose from, in a class room setting with an hour of classroom training. Contractors choose what classroom training best fits their needs. The classes offered throughout the day were: 1. Hybrid condensing boiler seminar 2.
