BEACH BEASTS
Look out for a series of dinosaur-sized creatures inhabiting a
stretch of Miami Beach along 21st Street during Art Basel.
Presented by haute horlogerie giant Audemars Piguet in
partnership with the Peabody Essex Museum, Dutch artist
Theo Jansen's Strandbeests make their U.S. debut—more
than 20 years in the making. Through the storage of wind
power, each self-propelling sculpture is able to react and adapt
to the environment, whether it's changing direction when the
tide rises or firmly planting its feet into the ground when
storms are on the horizon. strandbeest.com
