Be Sure To Visit Us At Booth No. 1211 The Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the American Fence Association held its 6th an- nual Hole Digger Classic golf outing on the morning of Tuesday, Oct. 7. The event was held at the Links at Challedon in Mt. Airy, Md. "The golf course was in excellent shape and the weather was beautiful," reports chapter president Scott Neal of Abbey-Fritz Fence Co. "Congratulations to the team from Sonco – Marty Drain, Wayne Phipps, Jeff Bitner, and Andrew Hession – who turned in the best team score." Neal also said that Drain won the longest drive contest and Hession took the closest to the pin contest. "We would like to thank Alu- mi-Guard for their generous sponsorship and for providing all participants with golf towels and can coolers," Neal added. The times and places of the reviews and exams are provided elsewhere in the FENCE- TECH preview section, but here are details on the certifications them- selves: • Certified Fence Professional (CFP). The CFP designation recog- nizes individuals who have demon- strated an ongoing commitment to quality and improving standards with- in the fence industry. It is designed for manufacturers, suppliers, owners, project managers, estimators and office personnel to ac- quire a good understanding of speci- fications, material standards and in- stallation techniques that help assure a first-class product for the customer. Re-certification is required on a three-year interval with a point system and minimum continuing education requirement. Download the required applica- tion at americanfenceassociation. com/certified-fence-professional or call 800-822-4342. • Certified Automated Gate Oper- ator Installer (CAGOI) When properly specified and in- stalled, gate systems need to provide the security level anticipated by the customer; but they must do so in a safe and reliable manner. The purpose of this program is to promote the safety awareness and professionalism of the gate operator installers. This designation has specific el- igibility requirements prior to sitting for the exam. The Institute of Door Dealer Ed- ucation and Accreditation (IDEA) is the certifying body.
