PRODUCTS & PACKAGING Wilson Daniels has launched a new line of varietal wines made in California's Central Coast. The new Wilson Daniels Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are made from fruit from Santa Maria Valley, a cooler-climate region known for producing outstand- ing Burgundy varietal wines. The Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc are made from fruit from warmer Paso Robles, resulting in full-bodied, robust Bordeaux varietal wines, according to the company. The wines have suggested retail prices of $10-$15. Van Gogh Vodka has added two new flavors to its extensive lineup: Rich Dark Chocolate and Cool Peach, both with a suggested retail price of $27 for a 750 ml bottle. Rich Dark Chocolate displays an intense chocolate fragrance with hints of coffee, nutmeg and spice, the company says, with a complex, dark cocoa taste and a slightly spicy finish. Cool Peach highlights the combination of ripe peach complemented by a bright hit of mint, according to the company. Laurent-Perrier Champagne has unveiled its latest vintage, the Brut Millésimé 2002, unusual in that vintage dates are declared only in the best years. It pairs well with a range of seafood, the company says, including grilled scallops and mildly flavored fish. It has a sug- gested retail of $69.99. The Dalmore has added The Dalmore Cigar Malt Reserve to its extensive lineup of malts. This latest expression is aimed at cigar-loving whisky drinkers. Aged in oloroso sherry wood (70%) and American white oak bourbon barrels (30%), the brand features creamy vanilla and notes of toffee and sweet pineapple, the company says, followed by mango, crushed pear and kiwi. The Dalmore Cigar Malt Reserve is 44% abv with a suggested retail price of $125 for a 750 ml bottle. North American Breweries has introduced Seagram's Smooth, a line of flavored malt beverages with 5% abv. Seagram's Smooth is available in four flavors: Classic Lemonade, Limeade, Pomegranate Lemon and Tea Lemonade & Mango. The brand is said to offer a clean, crisp palate with no aftertaste, according to the company. It is available in a 12- and 24-count variety packs.
