FON: What is the theme for this year's
event?
Garber: Our theme this year is Hershey.
Our attendees always look forward to the
event when it is in Hershey. They like
everything in one place—free parking, easy
indoor walk to exhibits, events and sleeping
rooms. There are also plenty of things for
the family to enjoy. Come early and go to
the theme park, tour Chocolate World and
visit the Rose Gardens.
FON: What might a first-timer expect
from an OESP convention and trade
show?
Garber: If they join us and participate
in events, they'll be back! They will find
that we're a friendly group willing to help.
They will find we are a great resource for
questions and concerns about heating and
cooling. Yes, many of our guys are experts
at all energy technologies. Our popular
outdoor area has some great products being
featured and we've got two solid days of
technical education that is complimentary
thanks to our sponsors. Indoors—we've got
some vendors displaying propane related
products and air conditioning items as well
as tried and true new energy efficient oil
fired products. We also have programs for
spouses. We don't have as many women
accompanying their husbands but those
who do can play Chocolate Bingo, or enjoy
a class on Wine with Chocolates.
FON: What's new this year?
Garber: We've got hands on training
on the show floor. Technicians and stu-
dents can learn, have some fun and maybe
pick-up a prize or two.
Another new thing this year is our
Industry Breakfast that will be held Tuesday
morning. Our goal is to share exciting
industry news so that all parties hear the
same message. The three key topics will be
Bioheat, our new National Oilheat Research
Alliance online education initiative and
NORA R&D products.
FON: What else is special with regards to
training opportunities this year?
Garber: The schedule is extensive. Our
industry's new Gold Certification program
will probably be a big hit this year. We'll
offer two of the six programs at no cost to
the attendees.
Monday we traditionally have manage-
ment classes, and we've got a nice selection
of classes there too.
Here are the educational session offer-
ings and the trade show hours:
