Construction is well underway on the Northwestern Mutual tower. The building will be the second tallest building in Milwaukee, changing the city's skyline. Construction is ongoing at various other sites as new office buildings and manufacturing facilities take shape. Residential projects are bringing more people to Milwaukee's downtown, adding activity. In the next couple of years, construction on two other noteworthy projects is likely to occur. A modern streetcar system will connect major downtown sites and a new arena will be built, providing a home for the NBA's Milwaukee Bucks and Marquette University basketball.
