Special Releases: The Benrinnes 21 Year Old,
Cragganmore 25 Year Old, Strathmill 25 Year
Old and The Singleton of Glendullan 38 Year
Old (Speyside); The Brora 35 Year Old and
Clynelish Select Reserve (Coastal Highlands);
Caol Ila Unpeated 15 Year Old, Caol Ila 30 Year
Old, Lagavulin 12 Year Old and
Port Ellen 35 Year Old (Islay);
and the Rosebank 21 Year Old
(Lowlands). The Scotches range
from 48.6 to 59.8% ABV, with a
retail price ranging from $120 to
$3,300.
The Fladgate Partnership
and U.S. importer Kobrand
Wine & Spirits have released
Croft Quinta da Roêda 2012
and Taylor Fladgate Quinta de
Vargellas 2012 Ports. Single quinta
vintage Ports are produced only in
years in which a general vintage is not
declared. The grapes are trodden by
foot in granite lagares to minimize the release
of harsh, bitter compounds, and fermentation is
halted by the addition of brandy before residual
sugar has been fermented. Croft Quinta da
Roêda: 20% ABV, 750ml, $47.99 SRP. Taylor
Fladgate Quinta de Vargellas: 20% ABV, 750ml,
$52.99 SRP.
Woodford Reserve has rolled
out a new permanent line extension:
Woodford Reserve Kentucky
Straight Rye Whiskey. Rye
has been in development
for nearly ten years under
the watchful eye of Master
Distiller Chris Morris. The
final product, which uses a
base of 53% rye, is balanced
and subtle, with an emphasis
on spice. Rye has a SRP of
$37.99 for 750ml.
SKYY vodka has added
two new fl avors to its infusions
line—Texas Grapefruit and
Pacifi c Blueberry. Made with
natural ingredients, these new
infusions blend grapefruit
and ripe blueberry with
premium distilled vodka. SKYY
Infusions Texas Grapefruit and
Pacifi c Blueberry, both
70 proof, will be available
nationally in 50ml (SRP:
$1.99), 750mL ($18.49),
1L ($26.49) and 1.75L
($32.99).
Jim Beam has announced its new Bonded
Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Aged four
years and 100 proof, Bonded has a slight oak
spiciness, medium-bodied
with a warm, balanced
fl avor. Bonded is available in
select locations nationwide,
with a SRP of $22.99 for
750mL.
SVEDKA vodka has launched
a new fl avor, grapefruit jalapeño,
while also entering the 100-Proof
category market. Both new products
became available this month, with
suggested prices of grapefruit
jalapeño for $12.99 (750 mL) and
100 Proof for $15.35 (750 mL).
