The company, founded by Julia Roubaud, has just launched its new T. Box concept which offers subscribers a surprise box of teas and herbals each month. Each T.Box has a story or theme and contains five or six different teas and herbal infusions, an explanatory note about how to prepare and taste the teas, and a rating sheet that helps clients remember and share the many and varied cup experiences. There is also a little surprise item that goes with the story or theme of each box. T.Box Shop also allows customers to buy an occa- sional box to suit their personal tastes. Subscriptions have grown so fast that each month, the company requires 40 kilos of each tea to fulfil its orders. More than 60% of the subscribers live outside blessing when the perfect conditions coincide. Learn more: www.ambootia.com/ KDHP Golden Leaf Winner Judges of the Golden Leaf India Awards announced 34 outstanding teas in multiple categories in a contest showcas- ing the teas of the United Planters' Association of Southern India. Judging took place at the 5th Global Dubai Tea Forum April 9th. Categories include traditional fannings and orthodox black pekoe and broken pekoe teas along with a test of skill in green tea making. Kanan Devan Hills Plantation won six Golden Leaf Awards, three each from both CTC and Orthodox catego- ries from its factories located in the High Ranges of Munnar in Kerala, India. KDHP is the largest tea plantation company in South India garden and the largest producer-tea exporter in South India at 25 million kilos. Learn more: www.envouthe.com INDIA Ambootia's 'Gourmet' Teas Every year, Ambootia Tea Estate in Darjeeling produces more and more unique specialty teas that receive their due recognition by being showcased at Harrods and Mariage Freres. Now Ambootia has also started producing a 'gourmet range' of teas. 'Frost Tea', 'Morning Glory', and 'Nirvana' are made from tea shoots plucked from the bushes when particular ambient weather conditions prevail so that those conditions are encapsulated in the tea and released during brewing.
