CULTURED 195 WOMEN'S OPPORTUNITY CENTER Kayonza, Rwanda Sharon Davis Design Innovation doesn't always mean slick materials and eye-grabbing forms. Here, urban buyers and rural farmers can meet. The facilities are maintained by local women, so it creates a strong network that can support the community for generations. HALLEY VI RESEARCH STATION Antarctica Hugh Broughton Architects and AECOM Constructed by Galliford Try for the British Antarctic Survey This building stands on moveable columns so it can change height for snow drifts and other deployments.
