The early morning session drew a large crowd of attendees eager to learn about proper loop installation and design. BD Loops brings popular seminar to IDA Expo The class was conducted by the general manager of BD Loops, Bri- an Dickson, CAGOI and IDEA sanc- tioned trainer. The seminar counted for 1.5 hours of CEU credit for students who wish to obtain or hold certification(s) with the IDEA (Institute of Door Dealer Education and Accreditation). The seminar covered topics ranging from basics such as how loops work, loop placement, and sizing, to advanced topics such as quickly troubleshooting loop systems, advanced installation tips and tech- niques, and loop phasing. The seminar was followed by a 30 minute Q&A session which included many interesting door industry specif- ic questions. "I enjoy teaching seminars at the IDA Expo because the students are al- ways attentive and interested in learn- ing," Dickson commented "The most popular topic covered was loop phasing, which, if done cor- rectly, can reduce the standoff dis- tance on a slide gate, barrier arm, or vertical door from 4' on each side to 2', allowing loops to be installed in tight space applications." More information about loop phasing can be found in the ed- ucational section of the BDLoops. com web site: http: / /www.bd- l o o p s . c o m / b d - loops_lab.html. To attend a future BD Loops seminar, check the calendar of events page on the BDLoops. com web site or contact your distributor to setup a training day with BD Loops. Dickson may be contacted at 714- 890-1604 and any questions about loops are encouraged. Above, Brian Dickson, general manager of BD Loops, covered a wide variety of topics regarding proper loop design and installa- tion at a special educational seminar at the IDA Expo in April.
