Everyone likes a "top 10"
list, or at least that's what
my editor says. These are
the first 10 golf courses that
came into the mind of a guy
who plays golf every day,
weather permitting, except
Saturdays and Sundays.
There are other great courses
in Wisconsin, some better than
these 10 early-season gems
selected for a variety of rea-
sons and listed in alphabetical
order. Maybe we'll provide
another "top" 10 next month!
1
Blackstone Creek
Chuckle if you like, but terrific
layout and pretty good condi-
tions; Little bit of everything
that tests everything; play it
every day and still have money
left for food and clothes.

course and nice value, espe-

Erin Hills Host for 2017
US Open; It's near Washington
County Golf Course and
Hartford Golf Club; Get away
from everything except flora
and fauna; Even scratch player
should plan on 5+ hour round,
walking only. erinhills.com

Ives Grove
Three solid links-type nines
(Red & White are my favorites);
Nice people; Fun to play; 20
miles south of Milwaukee, a
four iron from the freeway.

Washington County
Golf Course
Clubhouse folks and a
maintenance crew that takes
real pride in what it does; My
favorite (at least 40 rounds an-
nually); For one round at The
Straits, I can play 20 times at
this meticulously maintained
Arthur Hills design; Great prac-
tice area. golfwcgc.com
