14 • JANUARY 2012 • WORLD FENCE NEWS Ameristar department directors to help lead company into future TULSA, Okla. — Ameristar Fence Products recently named two team members – Hobey Allen and Chad Martin – whom it is depending upon to help lead the company in new and modern directions. Based upon Ameristar's recent ac- quisition of ATG Access, Inc., a world renowned manufacturer of active and passive vehicle barriers for perimeter security applications, Allen, Directory of Ameristar Security Products, was brought on board to spearhead Ameris- tar's efforts in transitioning from a fence manufacturer to a perimeter se- curity company through additional ac- quisitions and strategic partnerships with numerous firms operating in total perimeter security product solutions. Reporting to Allen in the product management group will be Mike El- more, Product Manager-Fence & Hardware; Paul Bulten, Technical Manager-All Products; Claudio Wag- - Leading the process to acquire additional perimeter security product manufacturers and establish additional strategic partnerships. maister, Product Manager-Gate Oper- ators & Access Control Equipment, and Ben Shirley, Marketing Manager. The product management team is accountable for the following: - Maintaining and managing exist- ing product lines. - Identifying improvements and cost reductions for current products. - Defining means to extend prod- uct life cycle and add more value for Ameristar customers. - Introducing new products within a well-defined product development process with all parts and pieces, col- laterals and training materials. - Becoming the knowledge base for their respective product lines. - Working closely with the manu- facturing group to improve existing products and to bring new product into the company. - Continuing to provide support to both the sales team and customers. Allen notes that his duties include "establishing a highly professional product management team with a long term vision to secure Ameristar's po- sition as the premier product supplier in the perimeter security industry." He previously served as Vice-pres- ident of Sales and Marketing with Master Halco, and as Director of Sales/Business Development at Smith & Wesson Security Solutions. He also enjoys a long-term relationship with Ameristar owner Eddy Gibbs and other Ameristar executives. Allen pointed out that Ameristar Fence Products is in the midst of tran- sitioning from being strictly a fence manufacturer to becoming a provider of turnkey perimeter security product solutions.
