WORLD FENCE NEWS • JANUARY 2012 • 29 New marketing and distribution process will make Trex fencing more readily available Trex® The popular and industry-leading Seclusions® fencing is now available for purchase through new na- tional distribution. Previously, the product was only available for pur- chase by truckload and with limited availability. It is now available in any quantity. All three colors (Saddle, Wood- land Brown, and Winchester Grey) are being produced and stocked. You may remember that in De- cember 2010, Trex Company, Inc. an- nounced a discontinuance of its fencing line through previous distrib- utorships. Now, under an agreement with two national distributors, SRF Fence & Supply and CFC Distributors, Trex fencing has been re-launched. "Since commencing production in 2005, Trex fencing has become the composite fence of choice for con- sumers in privacy fence application and in combination with other prod- ucts, such as Trex posts with iron pan- els," said Edmund Rose, marketing director of CFC Distributors. "The fencing line compliments the suite of decking, railing and related products offered by Trex Company. "Trex fencing has been established successfully in several territories throughout the United States and Canada. However, building market awareness and getting the product to the buyer has been challenging. Through the new distribution model, the product will now be available to all levels of suppliers and contractors to ensure full market coverage. Support in marketing and installation is also available," he said. Rose noted that, adding to success in the residential market, Trex fencing has increasingly been included in specs for commercial and government properties. Projects are underway for the in- stallation of several miles of perimeter fencing for the Highlands Ranch Metro District in Colorado, and for over 20,000 linear feet in conjunction with a Utah Transit Authority light rail initiative in the Salt Lake metro area. Trex fencing is also becoming ac- cepted for its eco-friendly composi- tion. According to Russ Lindsay, sales manager of SRF Fence & Supply, "In South Dakota, Trex was selected by the U.S. Forestry Service for the Sher- aton Lake North Beach Improvement Project in the Black Hills National Forest." Trex is a 95% recycled product and qualifies for the U.S. Green Build- ing Council's LEED certification, which meets several requirements for sustainable products. It has also been rated for 110 m.p.h. steady winds. The fencing is designed with a board-on-board "neighbor-friendly" appearance that ensures both sides look the same for shared properties. Pre-built gates or DIY instructions are available. The fence is simple to construct and, like wood, can be customized with some creativity.
