(The venue had to be changed at the last minute due to the origi- nal course, Riverchase Golf Club in Coppell, Texas, being flooded due to the torrential rains that fell in Texas during the week.) According to TFA president Doug Rutledge, "We had a great meeting in Dallas. There were 17 teams in the golf tournament on Friday and we raised over $6,000. "On Saturday, the board of direc- tors approved funding to help with some fence work at the Apollo Ani- mal Rescue Mission in Justin, Texas and for the Escape Family Resource Center in Houston. "Afterwards, we had 35 people for lunch and our speaker, John Hardison, gave a really good presentation about how to effectively communicate not just with your customers but with ev- eryone in your life. "Your support in the organization is vital in our efforts to give back to our communities and members in the way of college scholarships, outreach projects and education. I thank every- one for their support!" Rutledge added that details for the TFA fall meeting are being final- ized, and that the meeting will be held in Galveston at Moody Gardens on Friday, September 11 and Saturday, September 12. Further details may be found on page 82 in a separate news item in this month's issue of WFN. For further information on TFA, its activities and upcoming events, visit www.texasfenceassociation.org. The Texas Fence Association is a chapter of the American Fence As- sociation, whose stated mission is to bring training, professionalism and credibility to the fence industry. One of its most important activ- ities is providing scholarships to de- serving students who have an oppor- tunity to go to college or to otherwise continue their education. Below you will find a variety of snapshots from the June tourna- ment and luncheon.
