These include test stations for quality control of cigarettes and filter rods. The aim is to offer every customer a test station tailored to his own specific requirements. Sodiqube and OMI+: Fast Measurements for Laboratory and Production Environments. For basic measurements, customers can choose between the Sodiqube test station from Sodim and the OMI+ from Borgwaldt KC. The Sodiqube and OMI+ contain measurement modules for the key parameters of weight, diameter/circumference, pressure drop, and ventilation, which qualifies them for use not only in the laboratory but also in production environments. An optional length module is available for both instruments. Both instruments impress customers with their sleek design, small footprint, and user-friendly features. OMI-Flex: Test Station with Combinable Modules. Customers seeking greater flexibility and customization in the measurement parameters favor the OMI-Flex. The measurement station offers nine combinable modules for a variety of parameters including hardness, moisture, and sorting. "All of these modules are self-contained measurement units and can be operated either as a single measurement station or in any multiple combination," says Michael Connor, managing director of Borgwaldt KC, Richmond, Virginia, US. "More- over, the modules can be integrated into any other OMI-Flex station." This is all possible in a station with an even smaller footprint than that of the OMI+. Sodiline: Test Stations with Maximum Flexibility. The revised and optimized Sodiline family offers maximum flexibility. "It is 10 years since Sodiline was first launched onto the market," says Eric Favre, managing director at Sodim. "This seemed like a good reason to overhaul and re-launch the range. We have optimized the design of the measurement instruments and made them more modular than ever before. "Instead of four models, Sodiline now comprises six test stations with between one and six modules; these are smaller and more compact than their predecessors. If they wish, customers can also supplement each model with one additional module at a later date," says Favre. "We offer a choice of 15 modules." All existing Sodiline measurement modules can still be used with the new Soliline family. This portfolio of products from Sodim and Borgwaldt KC offers customers a range of customized solutions for every task – both today and in the future. Gentle picker. The Automatic Sampling Picker (ASP) removes samples of both cigarettes and filter rods directly from the mass flow of the maker automatically and with a high degree of flexibility. ASP, which is available for use with the test stations from Sodim and Borgwaldt, offers customers extremely effective automation solution for their sampling processes. The automated pickup arm of ASP is mounted above the mass flow of maker and removes cigarettes or filter rods directly from the mass flow before transporting them to the test stations Sodiline from Sodim or OMI-Flex and OMI+ from Borgwaldt. ASP can be installed on the machine or removed without interrupting production in the maker. ASP operates independently of the filter tip orientation and samples individually or in batches. There is no longer any need to remove samples manually and the material is handled very gently. ASP supplements existing automatic sampling solutions from Sodim and Borgwaldt. Sodilink-F from Sodim and OMI+ and OMI-Flex from Borgwaldt provide options for removing filters pneumatically and in a closed-loop. Customers may select the solution that offers the best match for their setup. The OMI-Flex test station The Sodiline measurement modues
