tobaccoasia 31 Kuala Lumpur shares a similar climate to Singapore and aside from the excellent Cuban- themed Casa del Habano, which can be found in the prestigious Mandarin Oriental hotel, I strongly recommend the two Whisky Tango Foxtrot outlets. They carry a vast selection of cigars from Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Honduras, and much more. Both outlets are lively places with a very nice, relaxing atmosphere. Managed by the same group are an important number of Kamelah retail shops throughout Malay- sia, the largest ones (such as the ones in Utama shopping centre and Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall, both in Selangor) have a cigar divan where you can enjoy your purchase on the spot, in very nice surroundings. Kuala Lumpur: Casa del Habano Kuala Lumpur: Kamelah One Kuala Lumpur: Whisky Tango Foxtrot Ho Chi Minh City: Saigon Saigon Bar Melbourne: Casa del Habano In Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) doesn't have many smoking lounges but the smoking restrictions are not very strict yet and one can smoke in most terraces. The iconic Saigon Saigon Bar on the rooftop of the Caravelle hotel is a wonderful place to watch the sun go down over the lights of the city and relax with friends while enjoying a good smoke. Or, you can opt for the Purple Jade outlet of the Intercontinental Asiana Saigon hotel with its cosmopolitan ambiance and fine selection of cigars and whiskies. Down Under, in the land of kangaroos and plain packaging, finding a place to enjoy a cigar is a challenge. Head to the Grand Hyatt Melbourne and its Casa del Habano, a welcome heaven for aficionados, but it's not a smoking lounge. To enjoy your puros, you will have to search for a comfortable terrace. In Sydney, there are a number of nice and trendy places, such as Hemmesphere, an opulent and comfortable lounge; Zeta Bar, a progressive cocktail bar; and Bambini, a dark and handsome set of rooms. In New Zealand the challenge goes on... you can purchase a nice range of cigars in Ha- vana House in Auckland but unfortunately one cannot smoke in the shop anymore. Fortunately, a few nice outdoor spaces will welcome you and your cigar.
