PRO PACKAGE held it first meeting of 2012 on Janu- ary 10 at the Crowne Plaza in Char- lotte, N.C. Following dinner, chapter presi- dent Bob Masten introduced guest speaker Gary Welch of Johnston, Alli- son and Hord Attorneys. Welch gave audience members laminated two- sided sheets which provided an execu- tive summary of North Carolina lien law. From his extensive background in construction law, he provided some valuable pointers and tips related to lien laws. During a question and answer pe- ST-250 riod, Welch clarified a number of points and provided additional infor- mation, which was well received by the audience. Following Welch's speech, Mas- ten introduced special guest Robert Burton, president of Poly Vinyl Cre- ations, Inc., based in Hudson, Fla. Burton also is currently serving as president of the American Fence As- sociation national organization. He emphasized the importance of taking advantage of the AFA's educa- tional opportunities. He also stressed that the leadership of the AFA wants input from all members to help achieve common goals.
