92 CULTURED ©JR-ART.NET; COURTESY GALERIE PERROTIN F or the past 10 years, French artist JR has used the 2005 riots and state of social unrest in the Parisian suburb of Clichy-Montfermeil as a point of departure in his work. This month, at Galerie Perrotin, "DECADE, Portrait d'une génération" will reveal a decade's worth of artistic exploration, including the first use of the large-format prints JR has become known for. The exhibition, which includes video, ink on wood and photography, is on view at the gallery's rue de Turenne and impasse Saint- Claude spaces in Paris. In October, Phaidon will publish a 296-page monograph, "JR: Can Art Change the World?" to accompany the exhibition. perrotin.com —Becky Elmquist FROM JR , WITH LOVE 28 Millimètres, Portrait d'une génération, Les Bosquets, In the Mist, Montfermeil, France, 2014
