The Best Leader is one who Serves… Dr. Maha Mohamed's leadership in the kidney transplant process is borne of her drive to serve patients and their families. Searching for a medical specialty where the "gift of giving" was paramount, she found a home working with chronic kidney disease patients. " As a Transplant Nephrologist, I am able to help both donors and recipients. Serving these equally important sides of the transplant process with evaluation, guidance and education is my passion." UW's team approach includes physicians from their nationally-ranked nephrology division, transplant surgeons, nurses, social workers and many others who give of themselves to improve the health and quality of life of kidney patients. Dr. Mohamed's caring approach is one more reason why people trust UW Health. Dr. Mohamed (center) is pictured with kidney donor Elizabeth Davis (left) and kidney recipient Carlene McMonagle (right).
