Selected as this year's recipient due to his contribution to the economic and social development of Spain throughout several decades of work in the wine industry, José (above left) has created numerous jobs, globalized his activities, and contributed to the improvement of his surroundings and the well- being of his country, the company says. He also has combined his professional interests with those of various social causes, culture and the arts, the company says. With José Ferrer's infl uence and support, the Ferrer family has grown to hold full or majority own- ership in 18 estates located in prominent wine regions in seven countries around the world and sells more than 160 sparkling and still wines worldwide. TIMBERLAKE BRINGS SAUZA 901 TO THE BACK NINE Justin Timberlake participated in the 26th Annual Ameri- can Century Championship celebrity golf championship for the fi rst time in June. To celebrate, Sauza 901 Tequila crafted a cocktail exclusively for the event, the Sauza 901 Club. The drink was the offi cial cocktail of the tourna- ment and was available throughout the week of golf. Bacardi Launches On-Site Bottling Program How would a visit to a rum distillery be complete with- out taking home a bottle of your own? Casa Bacardí Visitor Center in Puerto Rico has an- nounced the launch of "Casa Bacardí Special Reserve" hand-bottled rum, which allows guests to fi ll their own bottles with a new extension of Bacardí rum. This marks the fi rst time in brand history in which the public participates in the making of the fi nal product, the company says. "This new offering positions the Casa Bacardí Visitor Center experience to a higher level," says William Ramos, Senior Brand Ambassador, Casa Bacardí. "Our ongoing commitment to provide the best consumer experience to local and international visitors is grounded in always innovating our offering." The rum available for guests to take home is the Casa Bacardí Special Reserve, created by Jose Gomez, the Bacardí Maestro de Ron (Master Blender) for the past 35 years. Casa Bacardí Special Reserve is a combination of rums that have been aged in American oak casks in the warm tropical climate of the Caribbean. The rum is fi nished in Jerez Oloroso cask to accentuate certain notes in the product. Casa Bacardí Special Reserve hand-bottled rum was offi cially available on August 3. The bottles will be avail- able to visitors for $150.00 each.
