Oct. 10, and 10am–5pm Sun-
day, Oct. 11. The free admission
event is sponsored by BMO
Harris Bank and Johnson's
Sausage Shoppe.
A huge tent in the Commu-
nity Center Parking Lot, W63
N641 Washington Ave., covers
bands, dance floor and tables,
lending a true Oktoberfest
feel.
Live music plus German
foods and beers add to the
fun. The live Glockenspiel
Show (Cuckoo Clock) reap

pears every two hours.
Silly contests include Best
Lederhosen/Dirndl, Sauer-
kraut Eating and a German
Spelling Bee – from Ault to
Zither (A-Z). For car buffs,
members of the Milwaukee
Region Porsche Club of
America display cars on Sun-
day, noon-3pm

weekend long at a number of

Grafton
Pumpkin Festival
The free, annual Grafton
Pumpkin Festival on Oct. 17
at Paramount Plaza kicks off
a day that includes Pumpkin-
Cross Bike Races and much
more.
Family-friendly activities on
Saturday Include a pancake
breakfast, scavenger hunt,
kids entertainment galore and
a photo booth. On the pump
-
kin side, there is pumpkin
bowling, painting and lighting
at 6 pm. From 6:30-8:30 pm,
the musical line-up takes a
more grown-up focus.
PumpkinCross Bike races
are 10:30 am-4 pm at Lime
Kiln Park. Fabled among "cy
-
clo-cross" racers, the course
involves repeated laps on a
short course featuring pave-
ment, wooded trails, grass,
steep hills and more.
Food and drinks will be
available for purchase. Grafton
is located 20 minutes north
of downtown Milwaukee. For
