O E S P 2 0 1 2 Get Connected in Providence, RI, May 20-24, 2012 Site for OESP's 59th annual Convention and Trade Show O ESP – THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF OIL AND ENERGY Service Professionals (formerly NAOHSM or National Association of Oilheating Service Managers) will host its annual event in Providence at the Rhode Island Convention Center, May 20-24th, 2012 and they invite you to join them as they celebrate, "Energy – It's a New Frontier . . . Get Connected!" Providence is a wonderful small and intimate city to host this event. Park your car and leave it there. The host hotel, the Westin, is attached to the convention center as well as the garage and the mall happens to also be attached, so if you don't want to go outdoors – you don't have to. OESP's mission is education, therefore, it works hard to deliver a variety of classes that are timely, interesting and offer CEUs for those in the NATE and NORA certification programs. And the education is free whether you are a member or not. This year OESP is encouraging certification and is mak- ing it simple for attendees. The silver review is online, www. thinkoesp.org, and OESP is offering the Silver Review by Hedden on Tuesday morning followed by the test in the afternoon. NATE is also working with OESP by offering the Oil Furnace Hydronics review followed by the test in the afternoon. This is complimen- tary to its members and those that have that can select any test they wish for a discounted fee. OSEP has the ongoing "Train-the-Trainer" program that starts with a basic program delivered by Penn State and annually OESP designs a timely topic and matches it up with a trainer. This year it's ECM Technology, Basic Electricity and it is about Controls. This ongoing program is designed to deliver key topics in a consistent manner. Those that benefit currently are training for their company – whether it is for a service company or a man- ufacturer or a school. This new single one-day topic of controls will be delivered Monday by Carol Fey. Also, four classes will be delivered by four "students" – their topics include: Al Breda, Solar; Angel Gonzalez, Old Fashioned Steam, the New Modern Heat; Ralph Adams, How to Grow your Business by Selling High Efficiency Equipment and Matt Spink, Moving from a Residential Technician to a Commercial Tech. No OESP annual event is complete without a visit to the Outdoor Energy Fair where attendees can see live exhibits outdoors. Evenings, too, are taken care of for attendees. After a busy day of visiting the show and taking classes, it is time for a break. The opening reception will be held on Monday at Waterplace Restaurant – where attendees will be treated to food and bev- erage and a custom display of what Providence is known for – WaterFire. This complimentary event is brought to you by TACO and OESP. Tuesday evening is the Annual Awards Banquet. Join your peers as they recognize those that excel – those that contribute to our industry and our future – and OESP's scholarship win- ners. This event will be held in the Convention Center Ballroom – Grundfos will sponsor the pre-banquet cocktail party in the Rotunda Room. For our closing event OESP will explore the city with its dine-around event. The result is a wide variety of interesting restaurants located throughout the city. After a cocktail party, sponsored by Grundfos, guests will be escorted to a restaurant, and after dinner they'll all join together again for dessert – com- pliments of Honeywell. Registration is easy and it's free – whether you are a member or non-member – just visit www.thinkoesp.org or call 888-552- 0900. 16 SPRING SHOW GUIDE 2012 | FUEL OIL NEWS | www.fueloilnews.com
