110 CULTURED Charles Avery's Untitled (Progressionist), 2014 PHOTO BY JOHN MCKENZIE, COURTESY OF THE ARTIST AND INGLEBY GALLERY, EDINBURGH The 14th edition of Art Basel Miami Beach marks former Armory Show director Noah Horowitz's first as the fair's Director Americas. His recommendations for this edition run the gamut, from the large-scale installations and performances of the Nova sector including Take Ninagawa from Tokyo, Galeria Leme from São Paulo and Freedman Fitzpatrick from Los Angeles, to the 29 newcomers who are exhibiting in for the first time. "Visitors should particularly watch out for Andrew Edlin Gallery, Kerlin Gallery and Mendes Wood DM," Horowitz says. "They're joining the main sector for the first time, where they will be able to show a broader range of their great gallery programs." artbasel.com 1
