In an effort to improve overall functionality and increase sustainability, the extra black cap from the previous packaging has been removed. The new front and back labels display a "premium appearance," the company says, and focus on the brand name. Collingwood is made at Canada's longest continuously owned and operated distillery, the company says, in the town of Collingwood, Ontario. It is created from water from the Georgia Bay and grains sourced primarily from Cana- dian farms. The whisky is fi nished with an extra maturation step with toasted Maplewood staves. $28.99 (750-ml.) www.collingwoodwhisky.com TRES PAPALOTE MEZCAL Riviera Imports has launched Tres Papalote Mezcal, a 100% hand- crafted premium mezcal. Tres Pa- palote Mezcal is distilled from the Wild Cupreata agave plant grown on the mountaintops of Guerrero, Mexico. It is unique to the mezcal category, the company says, with a slightly sweeter and less smoky fl avor than other mezcal varieties. Cheech Marin, American actor and comedian best known as one half of the Grammy-award win- ning duo Cheech & Chong, will serve as brand ambassador. Tres Papalote Mezcal is available in three expressions of varying ABV. $45-48 (40% ABV), $60 (46% ABV), $85-$100 (50% ABV). All 750-ml. www.trespapalotemezcal.com GLENLIVET NÀDURRA PEATED WHISKY CASK FINISH The Glenlivet has revealed its fi rst peated fl avor in over one hundred years. In the early 1800s, The Glenlivet distillers used peat smoke to dry the malted barley. This whisky would have had a rich, smoky fl avor. Reinterpreting this tradition, this new expression is matured in American oak casks that previously held heavily peated scotch. The Glenlivet Nàdurra Peated Whisky Cask Finish has an aromatic smokiness, according to the company, complemented by spicy fruits. The smokiness is juxtaposed with the smooth, fruity house style of The Glenlivet Single Malt. $84.99 (750-ml.) www.theglenlivet.com WICKED DOLPHIN GOLD RESERVE RUM Wicked Dolphin of Florida has released Gold Reserve Rum. Made with 100% Florida sug- arcane and aged for three years in bourbon barrels, the company says, this rum is 40% ABV. The heat and humidity in Florida play a factor in the rum-making, the company believes, as the South Florida climate causes a faster aging process for a more-mature taste. Wicked Dolphin barrels are blended and fi nished to create a smooth and sweet buttery start, the company says, followed by a deep oaky fi nish. Gold Reserve is currently available at the Wicked Dolphin Distillery in Cape Coral, Florida and through Republic National Distributing Company. $32.99 (750-ml.) www.wickeddolphinrum.com STOLI VODKA BOTTLE REDESIGN For the fi rst time since the brand's inception eighty-plus years ago, Stoli Vodka has completely re- designed the packaging for its full range of vodkas. The new design contemporizes the brand for the millennial audience, the company says, while remaining true to Stoli's heritage. Upgrades include: a taller and more elegant bottle shape with an embossed brand "Stoli" logo on the neck; a new craft label texture, upgrade of the main Stolichnaya logo and nuance details throughout the design; and a revised premium paper front and back label. www.stoli.com VODKA MARIETTE Rolling out in the U.S. this season is Vodka Mariette, a French vodka produced in Bordeaux. Vodka Mariette is distilled fi ve times in Bordeaux using only French, GMO-free whole wheat and water from the Ambes Spring, the com- pany says. To embody Mariette — which means "Little Rebel" — the vodka is encased in a handmade and neckless carafe with 'French- modern' style, the company says. Vodka Mariette is also available in three natural fl avors: Raspberry & Pomegranate, Vanilla & Coconut, and Orange & Pineapple. The entire line is 40% ABV, OU kosher, and available in six-bottle cartons. $29.99 (750-ml.) www.vodkamariette.com KILN EMBERS SCOTCH WHISKY The Wemyss Family has announced 'Kiln Embers', blended with double the amount of smoky Islay malt whisky than its sister whisky, Peat Chimney. With a limited release of just 12,000 bottles globally (2,400 al- located to the US market), it is presented in a gift box and will be available in NY, MA, PA, MN and CA with a suggested retail price of $69.99. On the nose, snuffed smoke mingles with salted lemons and sweet cured bacon, the company says, with oats and orange peel toast over embers and heathery peat on the palate and a sweet smoke fi nish. $69.99 (750-ml.) www.wemyssmalts.com
