Those attending were greeted and introduced to Merchants Metals em- ployees, then given a tour of the facil- ity. Chapter president Roger Freeman of Freeman Fence conducted a chap- ter meeting and then guest speaker and Field Training School instructor Kevin Roberts took over. Roberts brought helpful and inter- esting observations, Freeman noted, and presented the "Certified Fork Lift" training segment. A total of 17 stu- dents from member and non-member companies were certified. The next Greater Chicago Chapter meeting will be held May 17 at the Pro Access Systems facility, a chapter member located at 1785 W. Armitage Court in Addison, Ill. This Chapter meeting and training will focus on welding aluminum in the field and current UL325 standards. Clifford, on the TV show Cheers, who was known to like his beer, es- poused this philosphy: A herd of buffalo can move only as fast as the slowest buffalo, and when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular culling of the weakest members. In much the same way the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular con- sumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.
