Based in the US, the Foundation runs projects in Sub-Saharan Africa, and in particular in Northern Togo and Northern Ghana. The goal is to improve the quality of life and foster overall development in small rural communities in Africa. The tea-growing conditions in Togo are harsh because of a very dry dusty period every year from November to March but local farmers have devised a way of protecting the plants with palm leaves and have established a system of regular watering.
