The church chose the WaterBuck Pump because of its ability to pump volumes of water under human power. The church had an 8-inch well drilled specifically for this pump. For their application—static water level of 38 feet with a flow rate of 50-plus gpm— the WaterBuck will be de- signed to pump 50 gpm at peak human performance with a 6-inch pump cylinder. The water delivery port and drop pipe will be 4 inches. This type of community hand pump will be the first of its kind, delivering 1.95 gallons of water per cycle, making it a true community hand water pump. The Empire State Water Well Drillers Association Inc. celebrated its 75th anniver- sary in January. ESWWDA was founded in 1941 and is committed to taking a leader- ship role in protecting its nat- ural resources through the promotion of the ground- water industry. Epping Well & Pump Co. Inc. celebrated its 30th anniversary in January. The company is a service provider of pump replace- ment, system repair, water treatment, and irrigation with a state-accredited laboratory on-site for water testing in Epping, New Hampshire. Franklin Electric announced it is one of several manufac- turers that teamed with the Military Makeover™ national television series to provide a military veteran, retired Tech- nical Sergeant Kevin Parke, and his family of seven with multiple water systems solutions for their home in Crestview, Florida. Episode three of the three- part series, also featuring Franklin Electric, can be seen on Lifetime Network at 7 a.m. ET/PT on March 17 and will re-air at the same time and network on March 24. BUSINESS NEWS ANNIVERSARIES CHARITY Lynn Douglas Bartholomew, CWD/PI, president of North- west Hydro-Fracturing in Spokane, Washington, died on January 4. It was an accidental death. Bartholomew, 69, was introduced to well drilling in 1954 with cable tool rigs as a young boy when his father, Daryl, began the family business of Bartholomew Drilling. After retiring from serving in the military in the Viet- nam War, Lynn went on to specialize in hydrofractur- ing and well rehabilitation. Lynn worked with his brother, Gary, and nephew, Rod, in 2003 to establish Water for Life International, a nonprofit organization to drill wells and provide clean water for villages in northern Guatemala. Certified by the National Ground Water Association, Lynn held drilling licenses in Washington and Idaho and was a member of both state associations. In late 2015, Lynn served as an ex- pert reviewer for an NGWA book on hydrofracturing that will be republished later this year. IN MEMORIAM
