Updated Study Guide to Aid Industry Professionals Published by NGWA NGWA has published Professional Designations Informa- tion and Study Guide as a replacement to its Voluntary Certifi- cation Exams Study Guide. The new version is now available in the NGWA Online Bookstore and can be purchased as a spiral-bound book or downloadable PDF. Like the original published in 2001, the new version provides details on the NGWA Voluntary Certification Study Program, all of its designations, an- swers to frequently asked questions, and sample test questions and answers for each certification. Covered are the designations Certified Well Driller (CWD), Certified Pump Installer (CPI), Certified Vertical Closed Loop Driller (CVCLD), Master Groundwater Contractor (MGWC), Certified Sales Professional (CSP-I and CSP-II), and Certified Groundwater Professional (CGWP). The guide now features an expansive appendix section fea- turing math formulas, selected articles from Water Well Jour- nal that will aid exam takers, and all of the forms needed to participate in the program. It is an ideal tool for anyone con- sidering NGWA certification or professionals in states using NGWA exams for licensure. The book costs $40 for NGWA members ($50 for nonmembers) or $35 for downloadable PDF for NGWA members ($45 for nonmembers). To learn more, visit the NGWA Online Bookstore at www.NGWA.org, call NGWA Customer Service at (800) 551- 7379, or email customerservice@ngwa.org. NGWA Updates Guidelines for Loop Wells for Vertical Closed Loop Ground Source Heat Pumps The fourth edition of Guidelines for the Construction of Loop Wells for Vertical Closed Loop Ground Source Heat Pump Systems was put together by an NGWA volunteer work group to provide updated information on the original Guide- lines that were published by NGWA in 1997 and then updated again in 2009, 2010, and most recently in 2016. The guidelines are written for loop well contractors, loop well design con- sultants, government officials, educa- tors, students, and consumers. It is a stand-alone document that does not supersede regulations or standards, and provides details on issues related to the construction of vertical closed loop ground source heat pump systems and offers insights to practical resolutions of the issues. It is a downloadable item in the NGWA Online Bookstore. The LOG waterwelljournal.com 14 April 2016 WWJ
