Drinkers fi rst got a taste of this IPA back in November when it was released on draft. Brewed with real grapefruit – Cali- fornia-grown Star Ruby and Star Rio – Reb- el Grapefruit IPA has a juicy citrus fl avor. During the brewing process the grapefruit peel is added in the kettle to give the beer a tart, sharp character. Before the beer is fi ltered, grapefruit juice is added for a sweet juiciness and to round out the bitterness from the peel. Four hop varieties, including Mosaic hops, impart the tropical, citrus notes at the forefront of this beer. 7.99-$9.99 per six-pack of bottles, $1.99-$2.49 per 16-oz. can. www.samueladams.com JOHNNIE WALKER BLUE LABEL 2016: YEAR OF THE MONKEY Continuing the Johnnie Walker Blue Label Lunar New Year pack series, the company has launched Johnnie Walker Blue Label 2016: Year of the Monkey. Irish oak enhances whiskey with notes of vanilla, caramel and chocolate, bal- ancing with the rich, spicy, single pot still taste profi le, the company says. At Midleton distillery, a selection of single pot still Irish Whiskey distillates, matured for between 15 and 22 years in ex-Bourbon casks, were blended together before going into the Irish Oak Hogsheads. The whiskeys were nosed and tasted each month until judged to be bal- anced with the right amount of contribution from the Irish oak. Bottled without chill fi ltration, and at cask strength, between 58.1 and 58.5% ABV. $269.99 per 750-ml. bottle www.Jamesonwhiskey.com GREEN SPOT CHÂTEAU LÉOVILLE BARTON Green Spot Château Léoville Barton is initially matured in a traditional mix of ex-Oloroso sherry, new Bourbon and ex-Bourbon barrels. Maturing Green Spot in the Château Léoville Barton wine casks provides an assortment of fl oral and wood characteristics on the nose and palate, which give way to a long, spicy fi nish that the company says is "reminiscent of the terroir in France and Ireland."
