The event places a spotlight on topics impact- ing the beverage alcohol industry, in- cluding government graft, trademark litigation, marijuana legalization and craft products. The agenda was created by a panel made up of regulators, industry stake- holders and attorneys, and qualifi es for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits in many states. "The Symposium provides a net- working opportunity for colleagues from every state to discuss an array of topics relating to alcohol and its impact," NABCA President and CEO Jim Sgueo said before the event. "State and federal regulators, lawyers, representatives of the industry and as- sociated organizations fi nd the Symposium benefi cial." NABCA Chairman Stephen Larson and General Coun- sel J. Neal Insley served as hosts for the event, which included sessions on topics as diverse as the impact of technology and online shopping on regulations, whether category man- agement programs are illegal and when government immunity shields agencies from lawsuits. "There's no more important time than now to discuss alcohol regulation, given today's environment," Larson told the crowd of more than 250 at- tendees.
