The guard is constructed of high-strength steel and is designed with two additional vertical posts and a longer reinforced bumper tube, which absorb energy and deflect rear impact at any point along the bumper. The guard is fully galvanized to help resist corrosion. Wabash National Corp., wabashnational.com Lift axle control system MeritorWabco has added an automatic trailer lift axle control system to its SmartTrac portfolio of stability control systems to monitor suspension load and manage lift axles on trailers where the load is reduced frequently during multiple deliveries. The system is designed to raise or lower the axle auto- matically based on cargo weight to help reduce fuel costs, tire wear, vehicle downtime and labor and maintenance costs while increasing wheel-end and brake life. The system integrates with the com- pany's trailer roll stabil- ity support and anti-lock braking systems and can control multiple trailer lift axles that can be lowered automatically when the trailer is parked; a manual switch can be added. MeritorWabco, meritorwabco.com Trailer jack Northern Tool's Ultra-Tow trail- er jack features the company's proprietary fast-action technol- ogy and components designed to nearly eliminate cranking. The jack has a step-down base engi- neered for hands-free use with a foot tap and foot pedal release with an automatic return that adjusts trailer height. Designed with an extended lift range of up to 20 inches and an added travel distance, the jack also broadens the range of tongue heights to which owners can hitch and comes in five varieties with dif- fering cranking and mounting features. Northern Tool and Equipment, northerntool.com Brake in-line filter Phillips' Air-Defense System is a trailer brake in-line filtration system for both service and emergency lines designed to trap debris before it can lead to damage. The system incorporates the company's Quick-Change Cartridge that features a bypass mode designed to facilitate airflow and catch debris. When the cartridge is full, a red indicator pops out, giving a quick visual notification that it needs to be replaced. Phillips Industries, phillipsind.com
