Anniversary Cocktail Competition MGM Resorts in Las Vegas recently
teamed up with distributor Wirtz Beverage Nevada to host Bacardi's 150th
Anniversary at MGM Resorts
Cocktail Competition. Bartenders from seven MGM Resort hotels came together in the Wirtz training lab, known as the Alchemy Room, in a contest to create the best original Bacardi cocktail. Stanley Schaffe from MGM Grand's
Zuri took home top honors in the luxury category and Mike Musinski from the Luxor's Tender Steak & Seafood came in fi rst in the core category. Both winning cocktails will be available at all contenders' properties through February. Schaffe created the Cherry Drop, made from Bacardi Superior, Bacardi Torched Cherry, rock candy syrup, lime and cherry brandy syrup; while Musinski won for the Basil Mojito, made of Bacardi Superior, basil, rock candy syrup, club soda and fresh lime juice Nearly 100 guests attended the
event, which was judged by Drew Levinson of Wirtz; Xania Woodman of Vegas Seven; and David Cid, brand master for Bacardi.
