Under the agreement, ASHRAE and AFE will look for ways to work together in regard to advocacy, chapter collaboration, confer- ences and meetings, education and technical activities. AQUAMOTION RECEIVES PATENT AquaMotion, Inc. is a pump manufacturer that builds all its circulators in Warwick, R.I. The company was awarded another United States Patent, Patent No. 9,328,736 B2 on May 3, 2016, for its carbon infused sintered bronze bearing which is stronger than a carbon bearing and is said to provide superior lubricity in a water lubricated canned motor pump. It can actually run dry without damage for a short time when the electrician checks his hook up and runs the pumps before the plumber filled the system, according to the company. CENTROTHERM NAMES EAST COAST SALES MANAGER Centrotherm has added Richard Bruno as its East Coast regional sales manager. He brings over 40 years of experience to the CES sales team. Bruno holds numerous plumbers' licenses in New York, and has a New York teaching certificate for plumb- ing, gas heating and oil burners. He is also the author of "The Residential Guide to Gas Heating" and has trained countless tech- nicians throughout the United States and Canada on combustion analysis technique, carbon monoxide awareness, testing and safety. Bruno is also a big New Jersey Devils and New York Mets fan. The new Heat-only Thermostat with Touchscreen (A3100101) is designed for precise temperature control of residential hydronic radiant heating systems based on operative temperature sensing capabilities. The thermostat can operate a hydronic radiant heating sys- tem based on the air sensor measuring operative temperature, a floor sensor (purchased separately), or a combina- tion of both to provide the optimal level of comfort and control. The floor sen- sor not only provides enhanced thermal comfort, but it also protects the floor's surface from overheating. The new Heat-only Thermostat with Touchscreen will replace Uponor's existing heat-only Thermostat (A3030101). Uponor www.uponorpro.com EXPANDABLE GRUNDFOS HYDRONIC ZONE CONTROLS The expandable Grundfos UPZC series of zone controls manage circulator and boiler control in residential hydronic heating sys- tems. The non-networked devices control up to six heating zones and can be coupled together in various configurations to accommodate any application. Boiler pumps, domestic hot water pumps, system pumps and pump priority are all controlled from the UPZC control. The zone relay control connects to standard thermostats using either two or three wires. The optional third wire provides 24VAC to thermostats that require external power.
