TV shows such as House Hunters do more than entertain viewers – they set expectations of what a home should be. Make sure the way you merchandise and furnish your home meets the expectations of young buyers. 10. Affordability. Millennial buyers don't have the big budgets of their parents. And even if they have the income to go big, that does- n't mean they will. They want style, comfort, function and no-care maintenance at a price that lets them afford the things they value more – recreation, travel and freedom of movement. So, there you have it. When we begin promoting our homes as the "iPhone of homes" – and back that up with thoughtful design tailored for a younger clientele, we'll position ourselves as relevant and attractive to a whole new generation.
