For the Record U.S. trucker jailed in Mexico D from STAFF REPORTS emco Express driver Jabin Akeem Bogan faces charges on smuggling ammunition into Mexico after he missed his exit in El Paso and wound up in a lane designated for Juarez, Chihuahua. Mexican au- thorities imprisoned Bogan April 16 for the 268,000 rounds of ammuni- tion bound for Phoenix. Bogan's supervisor, Dennis Mek- enye, said Bogan was en route to his third stop in El Paso, Texas, on April 16. After that stop, he was scheduled to deliver the ammunition to Phoe- nix, but missed his exit. The 27-year-old Dallas resident said a law enforcement officer told him he could continue on the Bridge of the Americas, then do a U-turn and return to El Paso. Mek- enye said Bogan didn't provide any other information about the officer. Bogan could face up to 30 years in prison on smuggling charges. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration ordered Texas-based Denny Mekenye, doing business as Demco Express and/or Demco Trans Inc., to immediately cease all transportation services based on serious safety violations that posed an imminent hazard to public safety.
