Announces Subsidiary Intrexon Corporation has formed Intrexon Crop Protection (ICP) in Davis, Calif., a wholly owned sub- sidiary dedicated to the biological control of agricul- tural pests and diseases, including insects and fungi. The newly formed ICP will use Intrexon's platforms to help protect growers' crops through biological control of agricultural pests, precisely targeting single pest species to avoid the off-target effects of conventional pesticide applications on the broader ecosystem. Smurfit Kappa Equips Maison Johanès Boubée Smurfit Kappa, an Ireland-based provider of paper-based packaging solutions, has announced its collaboration with Maison Johanès Boubée. Smurfit Kappa will equip the French wine company with fill- ing and Bag-in-Box technologies for its new bottling center near Bordeaux. Smurfit Kappa's complete fill- ing line will let Maison Johanès Boubée optimize its oxygen management and increase the shelf life of its Bag-in-Box wine. Western Juniper Alliance to Expand After providing sustainably harvested western juniper to Oregon buyers for nearly three years, the Western Juniper Alliance in Portland, Ore., has announced launches in Washington, California and Idaho. The wood is being promoted by a new cam- paign supported in part by the Western Juniper Alli- ance and the state of Oregon, all to increase the sustainable harvest, manufacture and sale of western juniper wood products. Wagstaff Worldwide Establishes Digital Arm Wagstaff Worldwide, a Los Angeles-based travel and hospitality marketing firm, has established Wagstaff Digital and Flapjack, a food entertainment production company working in partnership with Wagstaff Digital. The move is part of Wagstaff World- wide's ongoing effort to identify marketing opportuni- ties for exceptional hospitality businesses. Wagstaff Digital combines the agency's already existing social media, creative, web design and additional digital marketing services into one department. Sellick Equipment to Open New Facility Canada's Sellick Equipment recently broke ground on a new multi-million dollar, 120,000-square- foot facility. Sellick has been manufacturing rough terrain and truck-mounted forklifts for more than 47 years. In recent years, a new generation of forklifts was introduced featuring enhanced ergonomics, envi- ronmentally friendly diesel engines, and increased lift capacities. Sellick products are supported by a nation- wide dealer network. PASSAGES In Remembrance of Orville Tyler Magoon Orville Tyler Magoon of Guenoc and Langtry Estates vineyards and winery passed away on March 19 in Santa Barbara, Calif. He was 87. Having served as a coastal engineer in the Army Corps of Engineers, he retired in 1983. He simultaneously managed the Guenoc family estate winery in Lake and Napa Coun- ties. Magoon was a member of a number of wine organizations, including Lake County Grape Grow- ers Association and Les Amis du Vin. In 2004, he and his wife, Karen, retired from Guenoc to San Francisco, where he worked on coastal issues such as "Sand Rights." He is survived by his wife, brother, children, a grandson and great grandson.
