The Pinot Grigio 2015 is 12% ABV and is available nationally. $16 per 750-ml. bottle. www.torresella.com/eng/ 10 LAPHROAIG LORE Lore's liquid was drawn from a selection of casks, including double matured fi rst-fi ll ex-Bourbon barrels followed by Virgin European Oak, fi rst-fi ll Oloroso Sherry butts, fi rst-fi ll and refi ll quarter casks and refi ll ex-Laphroaig stock. The smoky nose includes seaside minerals and a hint of ash and bitter chocolate drops, the company says. Vanilla follows with oily unfrosted chestnuts and a hint of fudge with a malty sweetness. The taste is richly peaty with a spicy chili bite, the company reports. Laphroaig Lore is 96 proof, and available at retail locations in limited quantities and in select markets nationwide. $124.99 per 750-ml. bottle. www.laphroaig.com 11 ASTÉLIA ROSÉ Languedoc producer Domaines Paul Mas announces the US launch of Astélia Rosé. The fi rst release of a new wine series, it is a blend of Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Grenache and Syrah sourced from vineyards across Domaines Paul Mas' twelve estates, including Crès Ricards and Domaine de Nicole. Pale pink in color, Astélia Rosé has notes of cherry and red fruits, the company says. The wine is currently available in New York and New Jersey, and will release nationally throughout summer 2016. $17.99 per 750-ml. bottle. www.paulmas.com 12 1792 FULL PROOF BOURBON Bottled at the same proof it was originally entered into the barrel, this is the fourth limited edition release of 1792 Bourbon expressions. New oak barrels were fi lled with 125-proof distillate in the fall of 2007 and left to age in Warehouses E, N, and I for eight and a half years. After the barrels were emptied, the Bourbon underwent a fi ltering process, forgoing the typical chill fi ltration, and instead was only passed through a plate and frame fi lter. This allowed the bourbon to maintain a 125 proof for bottling. $44.99 per 750-ml. bottle. www.1792bourbon.com 13 RHETORIC 22-YEAR-OLD The eighth release from the Orphan Barrel Whiskey Distilling Company is the third in the Rhetoric series of progressively aged whiskeys. Rhetoric stocks were found in the old Stitzel-Weller Warehouses in Louisville, Ky. The whiskey was distilled between 1990– 1993 at the Bernheim Distillery. The whiskey is hand-bottled in Tullahoma, Tennessee. Rhetoric 22-Year-Old is 86% corn, 8% barley and 6% rye. Beginning with hints of toasted grains, cherries and oak wood, Rhetoric 22-Year-Old tastes of toasted oak, dark chocolate with ripe banana and baking spices of clove and anise, the company says. The fi nish is long and woody, ending with dark chocolate notes. 90.4 proof. $110 per 750-ml. bottle. www.orphanbarrel.com 14 NOT YOUR FATHER'S VANILLA CREAM ALE This is a creamy botanical craft beer brewed with Madagascar Vanilla, combining a sweet savor with a smooth fi nish, the company says. Not Your Father's Vanilla Cream Ale will be available in 12-oz. bottles in a six-pack. Similar to the brewery's prior releases of root beer and ginger ale, Not Your Father's Vanilla Cream Ale is inspired by gruit brewing tradition, the company says. Gruit is German for "herbs" and is an ancient way of bitter- ing and fl avoring beer using roots, spices, fl owers and berries. $10.99 per pack. www.smalltownbrewery.com 9 10 11 12 14 14 13
