New York / Long Island Fence Association honors memory of John Del Mastro with golf tournament The NY/LI Fence Association is hosting its first annual golf outing, the John A. Del Mastro Memorial Golf Outing, on September 27, 2012 at the Mill Pond Golf course in Medford, New York. According to chapter president Ken Piil of Piil Fence Co., "John was a long-time friend and member of the chap- ter. He worked many years in the fence industry, first as an installer, then owner, then as general manager at Eastern Wholesale Fence. "John saw the need for a strong local chapter and was usually the first to offer help and support. He stayed out of the picture, but was there when needed. My hope is to get everyone in- volved in this outing. We need your support to make this a great success," John Del Mastro W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Penn. — ASTM International has announced the release of the 12th edition of its ASTM Stan- dards for Fence Materials and Products. The new edi- tion will be the most current re- source for the fencing industry and will include 49 ASTM standards. The price of ei- ther a book or CD-ROM is $175. Michigan Chapter AFA slates August tourney The Michigan Chapter AFA has scheduled its annual golf tourna- ment for August 23, 2012 at the Sycamore Hills Golf Club in Ma- comb, Mich., the chapter an- nounced. Residential building in April grew 1% to $148.0 billion (annual rate). Single family housing continued to edge upward, rising 2%, and revised statistics show that it has now regis- tered modest improvement in 10 of the said Piil. Proceeds will help start a scholar- ship in Del Mastro's name and support the NY/LI Fence Association.
