Back for the 36th year, Mil-
waukee Irish Fest continues
to bring a taste of Ireland
to Milwaukee's Lakefront
each August. With more
than 100 acts on 17 stag-
es, along with a variety of
vendors, cultural exhibits,
sporting events and more,
anyone can be Irish for the
weekend.
Music
This year's festival features
the Celtic World Show-
case, highlighting musicians
from six of the Celtic nations.
These acts share centu-
ries-old musical traditions
and the Celtic culture while
continuing to shape modern
global music. Some of the
showcase artists include:
Barrule, Calan, Celtic Fiddle
Festival, De Barra and the
Wrigley Sisters.
Having visited everywhere
from village pubs to interna-
tional festivals, Milwaukee
Irish Fest planners are excited
to introduce 11 new artists to
the festival, including: Donal
Clancy, Drowsy Lads, JigJam,
Runa and The Dardanelles.
