Your FEEDBACK "THE WONDER OF WATER" Your article on Water Well Journal turning 70 years old ("WWJ Turns 70," July 2016) was excellent and very interesting. I noticed in your timeline you mentioned a thin vinyl record being inserted in WWJ in 1972 inviting people to attend the NWWA convention. I do not recall that, but I do recall as advertising manager at Goulds Pumps Inc. working with our advertising agency to write lyrics and music to produce an original song called "The Wonder of Water." We had it recorded and made into a light-blue vinyl insert that ran as an advertisement in WWJ around that time. We later had the song recorded by country music star Tom T. Hall and put on cassette. The song was a tribute to well drillers and was a big hit with many of them. More than one told me they wanted the song played at their funeral. Hundreds of dealers told us how much they liked the song too. I worked at Goulds from 1966 to 1995 and in the early days of WWJ Goulds was a pioneer in the use of color ads. During my time as ad manager we even had three-page color fold-out ads featuring well drillers and pump professionals.
